About Windward Publications
Windward Publications Pty Ltd is operated by David, Anthony and Emma Colfelt and is based in Berry, New South Wales.
In 1978 David and his wife Carolyn were amongst the first clients of a fledgling bareboat yacht charter industry in the Whitsundays, and together they wrote, designed, photographed, illustrated and produced the first edition of 100 Magic Miles, published in 1985. They have produced two other books about the Great Barrier Reef: Barrier Reef Traveller and The Whitsundays Book.
Since 2009, David and Carolyn's son Anthony and his wife Emma have helped to research and produce each new edition of 100 Magic Miles and have been editors since 2018. After more than a decade of research, in 2026 they published Walking The Whitsundays – A Guide to 45 Island and Mainland Walks.
